Helping Thru the Undertow Provide Support to Parents with Child Victims of CSA

Why should you donate to Thru the Undertow?

As a mother to children who were sexually abused and trafficked, I didn't just create this podcast for entertainment. This is my new world. I think that you should donate to my podcast because:

 1.      Personal Connection: My firsthand experience and emotional connection to the subject matter brings authenticity and credibility to the podcast. As a mother who has endured the heart-wrenching experience of finding out my own children were abused and trafficked, I can offer unique insights, empathy, and understanding that can resonate deeply with listeners.
        2.      Empowerment and Healing: By supporting the podcast, donors contribute not only to my healing process as well, but also to my children's. Channeling my pain into advocacy and education is empowering and provides me with a sense of purpose. This empowerment can then extend back to listeners which can lead to a more compelling and dedicated effort in raising awareness about child abuse and trafficking.
        3.      Advocacy and Awareness: I hope that my personal story serves as a powerful advocacy tool to shed light on the widespread issue of child abuse and trafficking. I also believe that parents are more likely to listen to someone with knowledge AND experience, and other listeners are more likely to pay attention and take action when they hear a genuine account from someone directly impacted by these devastating experiences.
        4.      Unique Perspective: My perspective as a survivor and a mother offers a different lens through which the issue is explored. This can deepen understanding and empathy among listeners, leading to more informed discussions and solutions.
        5.      Supportive Community: The podcast can foster a supportive community for parents, survivors and their families. Listeners who have experienced similar trauma will hopefully find solace and comfort in knowing they are not alone. By donating, supporters contribute to building this nurturing community. This podcast is for me, but it's also for all of you as well!
        6.      Encouragement for Others: I made the conscious choice to share my story. My courage in sharing can inspire other survivors to speak up and seek help. Donating to Thru the Undertow encourages me to continue my advocacy, which, in turn, can encourage others to break their silence and seek healing.
        7.      Amplifying the Message: Financial support enables Thru the Undertow to reach a broader audience and raise even more awareness about child abuse and trafficking. Increased resources can lead to better production quality, wider promotion, and access to experts and guests, all of which enhance the impact of the podcast.

Overall, donating to Thru the Undertow, a podcast for parents of sexually abused children which is hosted by an actual mom whose children were abused and trafficked goes beyond supporting a media channel—it becomes a compassionate and meaningful contribution to a cause that seeks to prevent such tragedies and create a safer world for vulnerable children.

I hope you will take the time to listen at www.thrutheundertow.com or on Apple Podcasts and leave a review.

As always, thank you for your support.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The first step for a parent is disclosure

It's difficult to describe what you feel as a parent when your children disclose sexual trauma or abuse happening to them. Unfortunately, this has happened more than once with me and my children. I believe that it happens too often with other parents as well. I also believe that there are many children that don't disclose for a variety of reasons so it's important as a parent to be able to see the signs that your child has been through something they aren't capable of processing or coping with alone.

I want to use my podcast to help parents learn about signs to look for, to learn about how to approach difficult discussions with their children, and to learn about how to be present and best able to handle when children disclose.

I think parents today are very overwhelmed. They want to be their for their children, but they don't always know how. They don't know how to handle things that are happening today with their kids. It's a whole new world with social media and many other dangers, and we are not always prepared to warn or protect our children. I also think my podcast and future projects associated with that can help many parents be prepared in ways they aren't now.

I hope that you will help me help others. I think we work best when we come together as a community. Take a moment to make a one time donation or to sign up to help monthly. We all benefit when everyone is given the opportunity to be and do their best.

Sincerely,

Nicole
