Friends,
This year Giving Tuesday means more to us than ever.
Every day, we provide pro-bono and low-bono legal services to immigrants in our community--our friends, neighbors, and family--fighting to stay in the country they call home. For many of our clients, our attorneys are their last line of defense against deportation and separation from loved ones.
As we press into 2026, we are experiencing the largest increase in demand for our services we’ve seen in our nearly ten years. As a small organization, we face the challenge of limited capacity to meet the overwhelming need for immigration legal assistance. Our goal for this upcoming year is to offer even more pro-bono solutions and to hire additional attorneys to meet this demand.
Your Giving Tuesday contribution to Aldea will make a direct, profound impact on those navigating the complexities of the immigration system. Every gift ensures that someone doesn't face this challenge alone.
As we enter into our tenth year of service to the Berks County area and beyond, our goal remains unchanged: ensuring that people who seek to immigrate here, whether to reunite with their families or to find a safe haven, have a home at Aldea. Every single day we show up for our clients because all people deserve to feel safe and free from fear at home.
While immigration is a complex national issue, it begins at the local level—within our communities. When people immigrate, they don’t arrive into a system; they arrive at real places—homes, schools, blocks, neighborhoods—where they live, work, and contribute. Every person deserves to be welcomed and supported as part of that community. At Aldea, we believe that the story of immigration is central to what has always made the United States strong.
We believe that detention has no place here. We believe that our neighbors are welcome here and that we are better together rather than split apart.
Therefore, we leave you with a promise: we will pursue justice in our community fervently under the belief that migration is a beautiful thing and we invite you to join us in the fight to protect our communities.
