Baitul Iman Jami Masjid - Dedicated to Hadhrat Mawlāna Sheikh Ashraf Ali Sikder رحمة الله عليه

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

As Salāmu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullāhi Wa Barakātuhu

On Monday 16th January 2023 (23 Jumād al-Thānī 1444), our father, Hadhrat Mawlānā Sheikh Ashraf Ali Sikder (raḥimahullāh) returned to Allāh SWT.

Inna Lillāhi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rājiūn.

He was an amazing personality, leading the local community as the Head Imam of Tawakkulia Jamia Masjid for 34 years. He also headed a number of charitable initiatives throughout his time in the UK. Our father (raḥimahullāh) was a firm believer in charitable work and helping those that are less fortunate than us.

One of his final projects was to help fundraise for the building of a local Masjid, Baitul Imaan Jame Masjid in Bauphal, Bangladesh. Unfortunately our father left this world before the construction of the Masjid was completed. Therefore - to continue his legacy - we are raising funds for this Masjid, in order to complete its construction and use it as a source of Sadaqah Jāriyah for our father and all of the donors In Shā Allāh.

Current state of the Prayer Hall

History of Baitul Imaan Jame Masjid

The Masjid was established in the year 2000. It was initially constructed with wooden walls and a tin roof. It can accommodate approximately 400 worshippers on the ground floor. Through the efforts of Hadhrat Mawlānā (raḥimahullāh), the foundation, walls and temporary roof made of tin has been constructed and some of the windows and doors have been installed. In addition to this, the boundary wall has been erected and a pond has been dug to provide water facilities for the worshippers.

PHASE 1

The Masjid is currently in need of urgent funds, specifically for a concrete roof. Currently, a tin roof protects the worshippers which is a safety risk, as water seeps through the fragile roof resulting in the prayer area getting wet, causing great inconvenience especially in the monsoon and winter seasons.

The cost of building the concrete roof will be approximately 1,200,000 Taka which equates to around £9,000.

An additional 1,300,000 Taka which is approximately £10,000 is required for the remaining work needed to complete the Masjid. Once the roof has been constructed, we will focus on the remaining work such as the Wudhu Khana, plastering, windows, doors, tiles and electricity.

PHASE 2

The Masjid has a foundation for 4 floors. Once Phase 1 is complete, we hope to raise funds for the construction of the second floor so we can start a Madrasah In Sha Allah.

The prophet ﷺ states in an Hadith,

مَنْ بَنَى لِلَّهِ مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build a house for him in paradise.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

Let’s be a part of this continuous charity. Even after we leave this world, we would still receive the rewards of people praying in the masjid In Sha Allah!

It’s the month of Ramadhan, the month of giving, the month of mercy and the month of forgiveness.

Allāh promises to increase our reward multifold when giving charity.

“Indeed, those who practice charity have loaned Allah SWT a goodly loan; it will be multiplied for them and they will have a noble reward” - Holy Qur’an (57:18)

Above all else, these rewards are multiplied during the blessed month of Ramadan. It is a month where we can cleanse and purify our soul and get even closer to our Creator.

Whatever your amount of donation is, always have a sincere intention that you are solely doing it for the pleasure of Allah.

The prophet ﷺ states in a beautiful Hadith,

مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ

“Wealth does not diminish by giving Sadaqah (charity)”. (Sahih Muslim)

NOTE: ONLY SADAQAH AND LILLĀH CAN BE DONATED FOR A MASJID.

ZAKAT SHOULD ONLY BE GIVEN TO THE NEEDY. You can donate your zakat to us directly in order to continue the legacy of Hadhrat Mawlānā (raḥimahullāh) towards other humanitarian projects. Please contact us on 07712 531135 or [email protected] for more details.

IF YOU’RE A UK TAXPAYER, PLEASE TICK THE GIFT AID BOX. FOR EVERY £1 YOU DONATE, THE GOVERNMENT WILL CONTRIBUTE AN EXTRA 25p.

**Processing Fees: We would appreciate if you could cover the donation processing fees so 100% of your generous donations are received by us.**

May Allah reward us all for our charitable efforts. Ameen.

Jazākallāh Khair

Wa Alaikum As Salām.
