In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The recent earthquake in Herat, Afghanistan, has deeply touched our hearts and souls. This devastating event, which is the fourth in just over a week, reminds us of the trials and tribulations that Allah tests His servants with. The magnitude 6.3 earthquake, with its epicenter in the Zenda Jan district, has affected our brothers and sisters living in scattered villages across the city.
The October 7 earthquake was a severe trial, leading to the loss of over 2,000 lives. Many infrastructures, including hospitals, schools, and homes, have been destroyed. Remote villages, especially those at the foothills of mountains, are in dire need of our help and prayers.
IAC, with the blessings of Allah, is striving to provide relief to these affected individuals. Every contribution, whether big or small, is an act of sadaqah that can bring immense relief to these souls.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Al-Tirmidhi).
The virtues of charity in Islam are numerous:
It shields us from calamity by Allah's mercy.
It guards our hearts from miserliness.
It can be a means of protection from the Hellfire.
It will serve as a shade for the giver on the Day of Judgement.
It elevates one's status in the eyes of Allah.
It brings barakah (blessings) and increases what Allah ﷻ grants us.
Furthermore, our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized, “Do not show lethargy or negligence in giving alms and charity till your last breath.” (Bukhari and Muslim).
Let us come together as an Ummah, extending our hands in charity and making sincere du'a for our brothers and sisters in Herat. By donating to relief efforts, we can be a means of their ease and recovery. While the earth may shake, our faith and unity in the path of Allah can provide solace and warmth to those affected.
Donate today for the sake of Allah, and may He reward you in this world and the Hereafter. Your act of kindness can be a source of immense reward and a means to draw closer to our Creator.
