Who we are ?
arcenciel was born during the Lebanese civil war, when a group of young volunteers came together to support people affected by conflict and exclusion.
For more than 40 years, arcenciel has remained rooted in the same principle: when crisis strikes, we act.
From wars, to the Beirut port explosion, to the recent conflicts and displacement crises, arcenciel has continuously mobilized its teams, centers, and resources to provide emergency relief and essential services across Lebanon.
Emergency Response 2026
As the national emergency unfolds, arcenciel remains fully operational across its centers, actively engaged in national coordination efforts, responding to families who have lost stability overnight and to persons with disabilities whose access to essential care is now at risk or gone.
At Taanayel, displaced families are currently being welcomed and supported with their essential needs, while our hostel, the Ecolodge, is now operating at full capacity. Despite these constraints, we continue to mobilize our resources to ensure that those who arrive at our doors find safety and basic support. Firewood is being distributed and is currently sufficient to assist approximately 25 families for the coming two weeks.
Across our other centers, teams remain fully operational. Emergency shelter capacity is limited, yet we are actively managing available spaces to prioritize the most vulnerable. Assistive devices and incontinence products are being provided to those in need, although stocks remain restricted. Our fuel reserves currently allow for approximately three weeks of uninterrupted operations, ensuring continuity of essential services during this critical period.
Despite having no dedicated emergency funding secured yet, arcenciel is already providing:
• Emergency shelter
• Hot meals through 3 of our community kitchens
• Clothes distribution
• Assistive devices for People with Disabilities
• Incontinence products
• Psychosocial support activities for children and youth
Persons with disabilities remain at the heart of our emergency response. Our interventions ensure inclusive and equitable access to support, because emergencies affect everyone, but not equally.
However, without immediate emergency funding:
• Outreach remains restricted
• Assistance is currently limited to walk-in beneficiaries
• Expansion to additional shelters and schools is not yet possible
Your support today will allow us to scale up, expand outreach, and reach more vulnerable families across regions.
The needs are growing. Our resources are not.
Your support today helps us grow our impact, reaching more vulnerable families across regions with dignity and care.
As needs continue to rise, our commitment remains strong, but we cannot do this alone.
The response is ongoing.
With your solidarity, it can go further.
