Season’s Greetings from Asian CineVision (ACV)!
We are delighted to conclude our 45th year with our final event and campaign, #GivingTuesday2021. Mainstream media experienced a renaissance of Asian and Pacific Islander American (API) presence in front of and behind the camera, and within the boardroom, which has served to be an uplifting and encouraging moment amongst the backdrop of anti-Asian sentiments targeting the community. We do not run - instead, we utilize these experiences as fodder to propel our stories further and wider.
We are so proud of our staff who, in the face of ever changing Covid-19 safety guidelines and growing violence against our community, produced the 44th Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF). By creating a hybrid festival of online and in-person events, we were able to provide both ease of accessibility as well as create physical space for celebration and introspection.
As we end the year, we prepare for 2022 by highlighting ACV’s 1970-80’s activist history in New York City’s Chinatown and featuring landmark films from Festivals’ past, while embracing a new generation of filmmakers. ACV stands strong in our mission to preserve and promote independent API media. This #GivingTuesday campaign is one of the many ways you can support.
Donations make up a large part of our organization’s funding, and are essential in keeping us operating. All donations are tax-deductible, and 100% of funds go directly to support ACV’s initiatives.
