Animation meets kids at their level
Children are spending six or more hours per day on screens according to the CDC. Do you know how much Catholic content is on the other side of that screen? Not much. Most of the things kids are watching are detrimental to their well-being.
Social media and streaming services have taken over as their primary educators. Kids are growing up without much of an understanding of the Catholic faith and without knowing how to grow in virtue. Their morals are coming from top influencers. Things like the Act of Contrition or going to confession are the last things on their mind.
It’s time to start making a change. We want to meet kids where they are at. That is why we are making animations.

Kids learn forgiveness
This Act of Contrition animation will not only help kids understand this prayer, it will also help kids understand the concepts of a contrite heart, humility, forgiveness, confessing to a priest, and more. Kids can start building a habit of saying sorry to God for their sins, “I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong, and failing to do good, I have sinned against you, whom I should love above all things.” They can start building the habit of making a resolve to lead a better life, “I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.” Through this Act of Contrition animation, kids can grow in understanding that Jesus can forgive any sin through His mercy.
Kids grow in virtue
Learning the Act of Contrition prayer and the concepts around it help kids grow in virtue. When the concepts are understood, and kids have built a habit of apologizing to God for things they have done wrong, they will have an easier time with humility, apologizing to others, and forgiving others.

High-quality songs and animations are not easy to produce. This is our most ambitious animation so far. It involves more people and will help teach a number of concepts in an engaging way. We are producing an Act of Contrition song to help kids enjoy learning the prayer. We are making a graphic novel to go along with the animation to further help instill the concepts from the Act of Contrition prayer.
