AAMP Utah is a local 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to getting resources into the hands of artists that create outside of traditional art mediums. Art has always celebrated the eccentric, the weird, and the niche... the Slam Poets, Punk Rock Bands, Independent Theater Troupes, Burlesque Dancers, Circus Performers, and Drag Shows have all pushed the envelope that we call art and paved the way for the flourishing culture that we see today.
Often these artists are the truest embodiment of the starving artist cliché, finding their passion in art that is less marketable or financially motivated than other forms. AAMP bridges that gap, offering a space for performers to showcase their crafts that is accessible, inclusive, and invested in giving back to our incredibly diverse art scene in Salt Lake City.
AAMP hosts hundreds of events every year and employs dozens of sound engineers, lighting techs, stagehands, and working artists/experts who host workshops to share their crafts. The vast majority of the money that comes in for these events goes into the hands of the artists and contract employees, which is only possible thanks to generous donations from our community and people like you. Your donations directly support the substantial expenses of the venue's rent, upkeep, and allow us to pay our small (but mighty) staff. Funding is so important for our cause so we can focus on how we can best serve our artist and musician community without compromising our commitment to giving back to artists.
