We are a tuition-free, college preparatory, public charter school that prepares all students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade for success in college and life.

Your gift will support us in establishing “The First HBCU Elementary School” in Jacksonville Florida in the Fall of 2022, to serve the inaugural class of kindergarten and first-grade students. Our program is the right balance of rigor and joy. All of Becoming Collegiate Academy’s students are motivated to develop a unique positive sense of self and purpose, as well as, a deep appreciation and respect for the identities of others; these diverse identities are celebrated, nurtured, and leveraged to meaningfully support learning.
A Place to Belong. We believe that every child in our community has the right to feel seen, feel safe, be celebrated for the value they personally bring to the whole community, and to be further developed to become the best versions of themselves.
HBCUs are our culture. Excellence is our aim. Becoming seeks to be to K-12 education what HBCUs have been to higher education and the society at large: training grounds for 21st-century leadership. Like HBCUs, we immerse students in a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment that connects to the history of their community and inspires them to carry that relentless spirit forward.
