Goal
The Big Fish Foundation empowers Veterans to thrive and be of continued service to themselves, their families, and their community.
The 30-hour Challenge event gives us a chance to push past our perceived limits and explore possibility. The only way out is through, and in difficult times it’s often through collective strength that we can push past what seems impossible.
I've experienced the impact of this organization first-hand. It works. I've been a beneficiary and now I want to use my effort to give back.
I loved being a Marine. I miss many things about it. What I don't have to miss is the camaraderie because the spirit is thriving in our veteran community. Events like this have a gravity that pulls likeminded and motivated people together to do fun and hard stuff with a purpose.
Service and Purpose are concepts that are difficult to teach with just words. I want my actions to be an example for my kids and hopefully motivate my friends, family, and community to contribute and make donations so that veterans who are struggling to find purpose can have an opportunity and a path that leads away from darkness towards a place where they can thrive.
The Big Fish Foundation is that place. The core values of Big Fish are familiar and powerful and they remind me of the best parts of the organization that my friends and I called home across many years and experiences.
Fundraising Goal
I wish more Veterans could experience this. Big Fish makes a big difference and I want to share it with others, especially those who need it.
What does it cost, on average, for 1 Veteran to attend a life-altering event? $1,500.
To make this happen, we need to raise $500,000 through the 5th Annual Veteran Challenge & Fundraiser.

Sgt Bocks was serving as an embedded Tactical Trainer with 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment - The ROCK - when his element was ambushed on 9 November 2007. Six men were killed, to include Sgt Bocks, and Kyle White earned the Medal of Honor and James Takes earned the Distinguished Service Cross in the fight. The ROCK is reputed to be the most decorated battalion in the Global War - although a proud and proficient Marine, Sgt. Bocks was also embraced as a US Army Paratrooper. RIP Warrrior ~
