Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Claremont Independent's first published issue by supporting the next 30 years of truth and excellence.
For three decades, the Claremont Independent has been the sole truly independent student-run publication at the Claremont Colleges, receiving no funding from any of the schools. Just in the last three years, our reporting has been cited in national and international media outlets, and even by a Congressional Committee. Meanwhile, our opinion pieces have created campus discourse and voiced ideas often unwelcome in Claremont.
To ensure our mission of providing independent news and opinion journalism is able to continue and grow, we are taking this anniversary to think about the next 5, 10, 30 years. One thing became clear: we need to invest resources in the publication's infrastructure so that we can improve our product and reach a wider audience.
With funds raised from this campaign, we will invest in our website and social media, create more opportunities for current staff members to connect with our alumni and faculty, and expand our print footprint by distributing a magazine edition once per semester.
Thank you for your continued readership, trust, and generosity. Please contact us at cl.ind.editor@gmail.com with any questions or if you would like to learn more about our mission and funding needs.
Donors will receive a copy of our most recent print edition.
The Claremont Independent is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, all donations are tax-deductible.
