Susan lives in Tyre, in southern Lebanon, but her story had taken a tragic turn long before the bombs began falling on her city. Her husband abandoned her, taking the little money they had and leaving her without a single lira. Desperate and alone, Susan sought shelter at her brother's house.
Now, she faces an even more urgent crisis: Susan is pregnant and just days away from giving birth and she needs a C-section to safely deliver her baby. Without this surgery, both her life and her baby’s are in grave danger. The surgery is vital and must be done in time, but the cost is $1,000—an impossible amount for Susan to gather on her own.

Sin esta cirugía, tanto su vida como la de su bebé corren grave peligro. La cirugía es vital y debe realizarse a tiempo, pero el costo es de $1,000, una cantidad imposible de reunir para Susan por sí sola.
