Ayat, the oldest sister in her family, once lived a life like any other teenager. Before Lebanon's economy collapsed, plunging millions into extreme poverty, she attended school in the mornings and spent her afternoons at 26 Letters, where she studied, laughed, and talked to the boy she liked. Life was simple and filled with hope.
But everything has changed. Now, Ayat is married with a child of her own. While her baby brings her immense joy, it also comes with overwhelming worries. Being a teenage mother in Lebanon's current crisis is terrifying, and the constant threat of war looms over her. Having already lived through two wars she fears for her child’s safety, knowing that it could start again at any moment.
In a perfect world, Ayat would be in her first year of university, meeting friends and talking about the latest gossip. But the world isn’t perfect, and her dreams have had to shift in the face of harsh realities.

Pero todo ha cambiado. Ahora, Ayat está casada y tiene un hijo. Si bien su bebé le brinda una inmensa alegría, también trae consigo preocupaciones abrumadoras. Ser madre adolescente en la crisis actual del Líbano es aterrador, y la amenaza constante de guerra se cierne sobre ella. Habiendo vivido ya dos guerras, teme por la seguridad de su hijo, sabiendo que la guerra podría volver a empezar en cualquier momento.
En un mundo perfecto, Ayat estaría en su primer año de universidad, reuniéndose con amigos y hablando de los últimos cotilleos. Pero el mundo no es perfecto y sus sueños han tenido que adaptarse a la dura realidad.
