All our programs are community based and are accesible for everyone living within the communties we work in, which are Acholi Quarter in Kampala and Danida in Jinja, Uganda. Both areas have a high number of internally displaced pleople, who battle with extreme poverty, illiteracy, hiv/aids and postwar trauma to name a few things. Our programs are run fully by our Ugandan team, who we have known since 2009 and who live themselves within our project areas. Susan Lakerruns the Kampala project , Aidah Nambozo the Jinja project, David Wafula helps in both Kampala and Jinja, while our founder Stella Airoldi does the fundraising and sponsor communciation part.
Within our Education Program we are sending 440 children to school and provide them at our offices with homework help, an after school program and child-parent conferences.
Within our Nutrition Program we are giving all our children each weekend a hot meal at our offices and provide their families with extra bags of food during times of food scarcity, such as was the case during the Covid19 lockdown.
Within our Health Program we provide our sponsored children healthcare access by taking over their medical bills. Additionally we provide them with clean drinking water, mosquito nets, blankets, clothes and so on to prevent them from getting sick. And we have a close partnership with 'WirHelfenSehen E.v." to provide them with eye healthcare.
Within our Business Program we make sure that families become self-sustainable to provide for their families. Our beneficaries are most of the time illiterate and live hand to mouth; earning 1 usd a day. We partnered up with "Entrepreneurs Hands Uganda" to give them small business training and guidance and they receive either a small business boost or micro loan to evolve their business.
