The Crisis on the Field
In 2024, more than 50,000 children and youth in Pennsylvania experienced homelessness, with over 10,000 of them right here in Philadelphia. These are not just numbers; they are children whose futures are impacted by housing instability and trauma. HopePHL believes that every child deserves a safe place to call home, and we're on a mission to turn these statistics around.
The Challenge: Scoring Stability for Kids
The challenge uses a paper field goal game to symbolize the journey toward housing stability and success for children and families. Each successful kick represents a vital step in HopePHL's process of helping families build a better future.
How to Play:
- Build Your Goalpost: Fashion a goalpost using your fingers or everyday items like cardboard tubes, paper clips, straws, or even two pens taped to a small box.
- Fold Your Football: Create a classic paper football, decorate it for your favorite team and get ready to kick!
- Download and print out your field and instructions: CLICK HERE
- Share Your Kicks: Record your kicks on video and share them on social media tagging @hopephlorg, @hopephl_cdc, @hope_phl and @hopephl using the hashtag #HopePHLGoal and #ChildrenCannotWait to raise awareness. Tag friends and challenge them to match your "score" to a real-world donation to HopePHL.

HopePHL serves thousands of children and families annually through housing, social services, advocacy, and early childhood support programs.
