Closing the Year, Opening Doors for Pathways to Possibility

I serve on the board of New Futures because I believe deeply in its mission and have seen firsthand how transformative its work is for young people. New Futures does more than provide programs—it removes barriers and creates real pathways for opportunity by supporting education, and career pathways toward long-term stability. The organization’s holistic, data-driven approach changes lives. Being part of this nonprofit affirms my commitment to equity, dignity, and possibility for the next generation of leaders. I am continually inspired by the measurable impact New Futures achieves through strong partnerships, thoughtful leadership, and an unwavering focus on creating opportunities for young adults. 

How do they it? 

We believe firmly that community college can be the best first step toward dream careers and financial security. We pave the way for our future leaders to earn the shorter-term credentials that lead to strong degrees and great jobs more quickly, more affordably, and more flexibly, disrupting the so-called "traditional," one-size-fits-all approach. 

By leveraging community college as a launching point to further education and career, and by opening access to in-demand fields like IT, Construction, and Health Sciences, we partner with our Scholars as they forge their paths to financial security, as they strengthen our communities, and as they take part in a changing workforce.

Impact!

Thanks in part to the support of our donors, the New Futures model is working, now more than ever.

• 97% of Alumni report that they are employed full-time and/or enrolled in their next degree program.
• 90% of New Futures Scholars  have graduated from their degree programs or are still persisting in school.
• 813 Scholars served (all time)
• $483K awarded in Scholarships
• 1,873 Total Program Hours (Across 36 workshops & Events)

New Futures Scholar, Litzy“As a young, independent, immigrant woman living in America, my journey has not been easy. I have had difficult battles in my life. I have had no other option than to stand up for myself, and yet here I am, standing strong. If it wasn’t for the people surrounding me, who helped me when I needed it the most, I don’t know where I would be.  And if it wasn’t for my desire to live, to grow, to succeed, and to change the outcome of my life, I wouldn’t have made it so far on my own. 

I am currently pursuing a major in nursing, and I know that it will allow me to connect with my community and make a positive impact in people’s lives. A nurse to me is not just a job title.  A nurse is a powerful person who shows up to bring happiness and care, to give people the strength to keep going, to encourage them never to give up. And when I become a nurse, I want to look back on my past and be proud I made it all this way.”
