Helping equip talented Lemont High School graduates with the tools they need to succeed in collegiate study of the arts.
Supporting the talent & aspirations of tomorrow's creatives in their pursuit of art, music, writing, theater, film & design, we look to annually provide three $1,000 scholarships to give Lemont's dreamers a leg up as they start their journey toward a profession and life in the arts.
Founded by an LHS-graduate & 3 Emmy Award-winning Senior Editor of Sesame Street, the scholarships give tribute to the creative encouragement he received as he strove to pursue a life in the arts.
Candidates will be required to complete an essay in which they share their aspirations and what they hope to explore in collegiate studies in the arts, and to submit a creative/art portfolio to their respective Lemont High School teacher/sponsor that will be shared with the selection committee.
Recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Creative potential
- Commitment to personal growth
- Overall community involvement with the arts
- Interest in continued opportunities to pursue creative endeavors
- Willingness to offer support and encouragement to fellow students
Thank you for lending your support to this scholarship!
Note: Contributions are tax-deductible through the Patricia A. LaPorte Scholarship for the Creative Arts Inc, a 501(c)(3) organization.
