2022 Natchez Children's Christmas Tree Fund
Started in 1903 by Capt. James Lambert, then-owner of The Natchez Democrat, the Natchez Children's Christmas Tree Fund provides Christmas gifts to some 300 children a year in Natchez and Adams County. Originally funded solely by Lambert and the newspaper, the fund has grown through the years thanks to community donations and the support of the Santa Claus Committee members. Nearly 120 years after the first gifts were given to children, members of the Lambert Family still oversee the effort of providing toys, clothes, fresh fruit and candy to the children, who also enjoy a visit from Santa Claus.
Every dollar donated to the fund goes directly to the gifts for the children. Gifts can be made in honor of/memory of individuals and all gifts will be acknowledged in The Natchez Democrat and at natchezdemocrat.com
