(How it all started...from the founder)
The Oars of Hope Holiday Challenge - A Global Virtual Rowing Event
Join us from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, as we row, cycle, walk, run towards our goal fundraising goal. Together we plan to raise $15,000 by December 24th for the Alzheimer's Association.
We're inviting rowers (and any one who wants to join our Do What You Love [DWYL] to End ALZ campaign) from around the globe to join us, with the ambitious goal of rowing 1 million meters collectively!
Whether you’re an experienced rower, a fitness enthusiast or just getting started, you can help. Every meter rowed, every mile covered and every dollar raised brings us closer to reaching our goal of raising awareness and funding for Alzheimer’s research and care.
82% of your donation will directly support Alzheimer's initiatives.
Mike Bennett in Action!
Your generous donations will:
1. Help Fund Research: Your support through Oars of Hope funds crucial Alzheimer’s research. Despite the widespread impact of this disease, it’s underfunded. Every dollar you give helps the Alzheimer’s Foundation drive forward in the search for better treatments and one day, a cure.
2. Provide Much Needed Support for Caregivers and Families: When you donate, you’re helping families get vital support through the Alzheimer’s Foundation’s 24/7 Helpline, caregiver resources, and educational programs. You’re giving caregivers the tools they need to keep going.
3. Raise Awareness: By supporting Oars of Hope, you’re spreading the word about Alzheimer’s. Together with the Alzheimer’s Foundation, we’re helping more people understand the disease and its impact, breaking down stigma, and inspiring others to join the movement.
4. Build Community: We’re helping to create a community of support, bringing together people affected by Alzheimer’s. Through online groups and events, families find connection, strength, and hope in knowing they’re not alone.
