In the wake of Donald Trump's 2024 election victory, and on the eve of Pierre Poilievre's ascent into the Canadian prime minister's office, the radicals that staff Big Tech have decided to crack down on independent media.
Google runs a near-monopoly in the online advertising world. Most websites are funded by hosting Google Ads. Toronto 99 was one of these websites.
Last month, Google inexplicably decided to cut off advertising to Toronto 99. This means the loss of an important money stream. Without advertising money, I can no longer afford to provide news and opinion content to Canadians.
As I try to figure out alternative ways of generating revenue, I am left with no other option but to ask my readers and supporters to donate to the cause.
The money will be used to compensate for the time, effort, and various costs required to produce articles and videos. It will allow me to defend against lawfare. And it will allow me to hire more employees and expand the scope of the operation.
Of course, nobody is obligated to donate. If people want to read my articles, they are available for free at any time.
However, if this content is important to you, then please consider making a small donation or consider sponsoring this website.
