Zwetajewa Telegram @ Ost Anders
ArtiSchocken presents : performance “Zwetajewa Telegram” – a self-isolated version .
The Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva spent 17 years in exile. A significant part of her creative heritage are letters to her friends and beloved ones at home, as well as poetry in which she expressed her feelings about being imprisoned in foreign countries and the inability to see her favorite people.
ArtiSchocken-Kollektiv (represented by Liza Milyukova, Liza Shlosberg and Olga Komarova) tried to transfer the experiences of Marina Tsvetaeva to the modern context and, based on her texts, created their own story of the experience of separation from loved ones: when the only way to maintain contact is through text. In the current global situation, when borders are closed and movements are limited, this performance is more acute than ever, recalling that “distances, versts, miles” which were so easy to overcome yesterday can suddenly become an obstacle, as it was a hundred years ago.
The performance will be streamed at www.ostanders.de on Sunday, 19th april.
