Youth & Young Adult Empowerment Initiative


Program Overview

The Far West Helping Foundation Corp (FWHFC) Youth & Young Adult Empowerment Program supports at-risk youth and young adults ages 14–26 through housing, education, workforce readiness, and community engagement.

Our goal is to guide young people toward stability and success by connecting them to safe housing, mentorship, life skills, and employment opportunities — empowering them to become strong, independent community leaders.


Core Focus Areas

  1. 🏠 Housing Stability

    • Transitional and affordable housing for homeless or low-income youth and young adults.

    • Emergency shelter coordination and case management.

  2. 🎓 Education & Career Development

    • GED and high school completion assistance.

    • Job readiness training, internships, and apprenticeships.

    • Resume building, mock interviews, and financial literacy classes.

  3. 💬 Mentorship & Mental Wellness

    • One-on-one and group mentoring.

    • Partnerships with local counselors and youth life coaches.

    • Support groups promoting positive mental health and community belonging.

  4. 🤝 Community Engagement

    • Volunteer and leadership projects.

    • Civic participation and community service.

    • Youth-led outreach initiatives.


Target Impact

  • Serve 500+ youth and young adults annually across Lee, Miami-Dade, Broward, Brevard, and Palm Beach Counties.

  • Provide housing aid and career pathways to youth transitioning from foster care, homelessness, or poverty.

  • Build long-term resilience through mentorship and education programs.

How Donations Help

  • $50 → Covers a week of groceries for a youth household.

  • $100 → Pays for one week of transitional housing.

  • $250 → Supports one month of mentoring and life-skills workshops.

  • $1,000 → Sponsors one youth through the full empowerment program.
