Donations to political campaigns in Alberta are eligible for income tax credits in accordance with s.24 of the Alberta Personal Income Tax Act. They must be claimed for the tax year in which the contribution is made. For the first $200 donated, the credit is 75%. For the following $900 ($201 to $1,100) the credit is 50%. For the next $1,200 ($1,101 to $2,300) the credit is 33.3%. Any donations beyond $2,300 are not eligible for additional tax credits. You will receive a receipt from Donorbox as confirmation for your donation, and will also receive an official email receipt from OFS at the end of the campaign.
