Goal
The war in Ukraine has resulted in a high number of casualties and injuries, many of which are severe and complex. After consulting with Ukrainian doctors, StandWithUkraineMN Medical team chose to focus on the procurement of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) devices and supplies. NPWT is a highly sophisticated wound care technique that involves the use of a vacuum dressing to promote wound healing and tissue regeneration as well as to reduce the risk of infection in complex, traumatic wounds. NPWT is a relatively simple and cost-effective treatment option that can be easily implemented in a wide range of healthcare settings. To date (March 2023) we have supplied a wide range of devices, canisters and dressings for about 2000 therapies. We connected with over 35 doctors in over 15 locations.
The goal of raising money for 1000 NPWT bandages for Ukraine is a crucial step in providing optimal care for individuals affected by Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Many healthcare facilities in Ukraine have limited resources and are operating under difficult conditions. The availability of NPWT bandages may be limited or non-existent in some areas, making it difficult for doctors and medical staff to provide optimal care. By providing 1000 NPWT bandages, we can help to ensure that medical professionals have access to this valuable treatment option. They in turn would be able to treat brave Ukrainian Defenders of Freedom who sustained severe injuries. Join our effort to deliver 1000 NPWT to Ukraine, and provide this life-changing therapy for many injured Ukrainians.
Donations are processed through the Ukrainian American Community Center (UACC), the fiscal sponsor of StandWithUkraineMN. The UACC is a Minneapolis based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works with vetted organizations experienced in getting aid to where it is needed.
