Goal
Powering a brighter, more secure future for Anna
Thanks to the generous donations from supporters like you, we are thrilled to share that we have successfully installed a solar PV system at Anna's home. This system has already begun providing the stable, clean energy she needs to manage her health condition more effectively.
Our Next Goal: Additional Battery Support for Anna
While the solar PV system has made a profound difference, we aim to further enhance Anna’s energy security by fundraising for a second battery. This additional battery will provide crucial backup power, ensuring Anna’s environment remains stable even during extended outages or cloudy days. With your continued support, we can give Anna the extra layer of security she deserves.
Meet Anna: A Story of Strength and Resilience
Anna, a bright 14-year-old woman, faces challenges due to an unreliable and costly power supply, making it hard for her to manage her health condition. Temperature changes and loud noises can cause her to experience convulsions, coughing, and skin issues. She is restricted to using a wheelchair to move around and manual lifts to change position. For Anna to thrive and attain a sense of normalcy, she needs a stable, temperature-controlled, and quiet environment.
Anna’s recent graduation from 8th grade, stands as a testament to her incredible determination and resilience. Her journey is not just about one young woman overcoming obstacles—it's about the broader impact of energy insecurity on many lives. As we continue to transform the way we power our planet, it’s vital that we ensure these changes benefit everyone, especially those most vulnerable.
Wood Mackenzie has partnered with the non-profit organization, Let’s Share the Sun, to bring the power of the sun to those in need. How you can continue to help:
- Make a monetary donation using the form on this page
- Donate unused equipment (e.g., solar panels, inverters, energy storage batteries, etc.)
- Volunteer your time and expertise to Let’s Share the Sun
Together we have already achieved so much. In addition to helping Anna, your support has powered two shelters for domestic violence survivors and dozens of homes suffering from energy insecurity. But there’s still more work to be done; Through collaboration and sharing resources, we can continue to broaden the impact we have already made over the last few years.
