"Baby Wood" is one of six children and the beloved son of our wonderful cook, Madam Canas. In 2022, we were blessed to have the 5 Star Global Ministry come to Bombardopolis to provide therapy for Wood. Living with cerebral palsy and developmental delays, Wood-Andel requires weekly therapy sessions at our local hospital. Unfortunately, these appointments have been inconsistent. Our dream is to one day hire a physical therapy specialist who can come directly to our home and work closely with him several times a week. Even more ideally, we hope to have a full-time nanny dedicated solely to Wood—someone who can nurture his growth, provide consistent care, and offer encouragement throughout each day. We continue to pray for the right person to walk through our doors—and for the funding to make it possible. At this time, we have not yet found someone who is qualified to meet his needs.

The older kids at the orphanage are incredibly kind and caring, always making an effort to include Wood-Andel in their activities. He absolutely loves being outside, soaking in the joy of watching them play. One of his favorite activities is passing a ball back and forth—an experience that never fails to bring a radiant smile to his face. During our two most recent beach trips, we saw that joy multiply. He was full of laughter as he played in the sand, and being held in the water, feeling the waves gently touch his body, was clearly something special for him.

This boy sure knows how to smile! Though he is non-verbal, Wood-Andel understands so much and communicates beautifully through head nods and hand motions. He is a true blessing to our family, and we pray constantly for his future, his strength, and his continued development. With his loving and supportive sponsors by his side, we believe Wood-Andel is capable of truly amazing things.
