Protecting nature in southern Canada is more urgent than ever before. Donate now to stand with us.
When Premier Doug Ford opened up 7,400 acres of the Greenbelt to development, we were all outraged. Our supporters rose up with a clear message: Don’t touch the Greenbelt!
With your support, we reported on the threats to Rouge National Urban Park if development were to go forward. The costs to nature were too high.
13,000 of you sent letters to the Ford Government using our report and generated more than 50,000 social media views.
Your support was essential for Wildlands League to be part of this unprecedented movement and the Premier’s declared change of direction. Thank you!
While we celebrate Premier Ford’s announcement, our job now is to make sure he follows through.
Wildlands League has a vision for more protected and conserved lands in southern Ontario, as well as restoring what was lost. We need your help!
This includes expanding Rouge National Urban Park and working with municipal groups including London, Guelph, and Pickering on connected and protected nature networks, while we continue to support the establishment of Ojibway National Urban Park in Windsor.
Help us keep the Government accountable on their new Greenbelt promise, while making sure we have all the ingredients for healthy networks of natural areas to sustain us.
Please give generously.

Founded in 1968, Wildlands League is a not-for-profit charity working to preserving nature for generations to come.
We recognize the alarming rates of species and habitat loss worldwide. In Canada, caribou ranges are on the brink, two- thirds of our grassland birds have gone extinct, and salmon stocks are in decline.
We are a team of policy experts, strategists, and communication professionals standing up for wildlife and standing with communities as we tackle irresponsible development and find ecological solutions that will protect at least 50% of Canada’s land, freshwater, and oceans - for our kids, for the climate, and for the planet.
