Winter Warmth

The harsh winter weather and lack of resources mean that these 60 children, among others in Afghanistan, endure frigid life in their homes. As part of the Enlighten a Mind program, they carry books in their hands during the day so they can learn and have a better future, but at night, they suffer from the freezing cold temperatures.  With no safe heating, many families burn whatever they can find, including pomegranate skins, just to survive the bitter cold nights. The cold steals their sleep, their focus, and their sense of safety.

Your donation will provide each child and their family with 2 bags of charcoal and one large blanket. These are simple essentials that mean warmth, rest, and protection through the harsh winter months.

A blanket is more than fabric. Charcoal is more than fuel. Together, they mean a child can sleep without shivering and wake up ready to learn.

Campaign Goal: $4,500

(2 bags of charcoal + 1 large blanket for each of the 60 children). 

A donation of $75 can help one child keep warm this winter. But we welcome any donation, small or large. Every contribution helps keep a child warm this winter.
