Demand for BlackFem’s At School programs is outpacing our ability to meet it. We are looking to raise the funds to meet the needs in Newark, Trenton, and Camden to launch our Kids' Credit Bureau Program for the 2018-2019 school year.
BlackFem, Inc.’s mission is to provide opportunities for women and girls of color to build and sustain wealth. Our core values of empowerment and social justice are achieved through the content of our programming, our commitment to reducing economic barriers to a quality financial education, and the long-term relationships we nurture with the communities we serve. Our mission is grounded in its commitment to provide unlimited access to financial education. Simply, we envision a world where all people, particularly women of color, have equal access to the financial tools they need to live economically-secure lives.
Our effectiveness has inspired investment across the United States from some of the most struggling school districts. Our impressive impact and rapid growth have been the subject of discussions among many elected officials, particularly those that belong to the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls. All of this attention is an indication that other communities in need, but currently do not have the capacity to begin operations in these areas.
