WingWoman Lebanon: Dignified Access Through Reusable Hygiene Products

Poverty rates in Lebanon have increased to 82% in 2023, with women in particular lacking financial independence and therefore facing increased risk of violence and abuse. At the same time, Lebanon has a waste management crisis with the accumulation of waste in populated areas posing health risks and contributing to climate change.

At WingWoman Lebanon we fight inequality with sustainable solutions! We provide cost-effective reusable diapers and period pads which enables us to also offer decent work opportunities to women and reduce waste in landfill.

Our reusable pads and diapers not only improve both mental (stress) and physical health, but they also save families valuable money which can then be spent on further improving the lives of their children.

Oula, a Syrian mother of 4 living in Shatila had this to say about the pads

"The reusable pads enable us to save money, allowing us to allocate savings for other essential priorities."

Khadija, who uses the diapers for 6-month-old Ahmad said

"I didn’t use [the reusable diapers] straight away but he had suffered with so many rashes and I had tried lots of creams. So khalas, I had to try these, and now the problem has completely gone”
