This donation is given in Maisy's name. She came into my life when a roommate almost ran her over on her way home from work. She stayed behind the couch for two weeks and slowly over time she began to trust. I have one picture of her sitting on my lap and not wanting to jump down. She had never know human touch so it was uncomfortable for her to be held. She appeared to be from a puppy mill. Afraid of loud noises and fly's. It let me know a lot about the conditions she lived in. A beautiful girl with one ear up and one ear down. A little docked tail that wagged so fast I thought one day it would propel her skyward. Her excitement, when it was time to give my other dog her medicine and she knew she would get a treat afterwards. I still have the video's I watch. Her cuteness at 1,000. Then, one day I went to give her a bath and I felt her masses and cried then as I knew it was not good. She had breast cancer. She lived about 2 more months and then in was in my safe arms that she left me. I so can't wait to see her when I pass and get the doggy kisses she would give me. So happy in knowing she knew where her safe place was and she knew what love was. I could so relate to your story of the dog who was with you for such a short time. Crying now, as the pain is still there. Hoping to get another rescue next month. I plan on taking in a senior dog to honor my sweet Maisy Moo.
