The Whitmore Square Barbeque is a weekly event where a free breakfast is provided to the homeless and those in need each Saturday.
The barbeque started a year ago when three housemates wheeled their barbeque into Whitmore Square in Adelaide's CBD to share food and yarn with those in the community. The BBQs have continued every Saturday since then.
We (the housemates) have funded this ourselves to date at a cost of roughly $200/week, and are now looking to get support as the event grows.
Currently, a donation of $1.5 will feed 1 person in need, and a donation of $20 will provide for 13 people!
Your donation helps us to fund items such as:
- Eggs, Bacon, Sausages, Bread
- Tea and Coffee
- Sauces and Condiments
- Gas for BBQ
- Serving Utilities
- Coffee & Tea Dispensers
- Special Events and initiatives for the in need
Not only can you donate but you can get involved!
