Fighting Hunger, Poverty and Food Waste by Nourishing Neighbors in Need

Good nutrition is the backbone of good health and healthy outcomes, especially for marginalized and underserved populations. Despite our county’s overall food abundance, free or affordable food is not available to residents with low levels of income. Many residents live in food deserts, which don’t have stores that offer fresh produce or nutrient-rich food. WPE strives to level the playing field for individuals and families who have been left behind by circumstances beyond their control. Since WPE launched over 10 years ago, we have rescued and delivered over 26 million pounds of fresh food, created over 22 million meals, and supplied 1.5 million items of clothing and survival essentials to our neighbors in need. Charity Navigator rated WPE four stars and a perfect score of 100% - accolades that fewer than one-tenth of 1% of nonprofits receive. Their ratings are based on financial health, accountability, transparency, culture, community, leadership, adaptability, impact, and results – Impact and results that come from loyal supporters like YOU!
