Why Cuba Decide? 

My home is the U.S., but I can't deny the deep connection I feel with my birth home and the sadness and frustration that come with seeing my parents and so many other suffer having left everything they know behind to pursue the unknown, because the unknown represented freedom, and freedom is the dream of every Cuban that has fled the island. 

Cuba is a dictatorship. For many years part of the world has been blind to that fact, the other part has been silent. Until now. Social media makes it possible for Cubans on and off the island to spread the truth of what is going on. To tell the world that Cubans want to be free, so they can finally dream with a future in their own country, a dream that doesn't involve migrating. 

Cuba Decide amplifies the voice of thousands of Cubans that want to see the end of the communist regime. I believe in the passion and dedication behind this organization. I have seen the way it works to reach influential figures including politicians, members of parliaments, and celebrities worldwide. I have seen the serious commitment of it's founder, Rosa María Payá, and her determination to make sure her father's legacy and fight for a free Cuba lives on. 

Now is the time, when the world is waking up to the reality and the Cubans on the island are taking the greatest risk of their lives by protesting on the streets. This is our moment, and I want to make sure I'm a part of it. For all the political prisoners, for all those who died crossing the Florida Stretch, or crossing the border, for all those who passed and didn't get to fulfill their dream of seeing a free Cuba. I do this for them. I believe Cuba Decide is instrumental in this fight, and I am proud to lend a hand. I sure hope you join me. Patria, Vida y Libertad.
