From River Water to a Future of Opportunity

In Naba Village, Flores, more than 700 men, women, and children have lived their entire lives drinking water directly from a river.

No filtration.

No plumbing.
No running water.

Just survival.

What Has Already Changed

Together, Right Reasons Funding, Yayasan Insan Guna Indonesia (YIGI), and Feed Starving People Inc took the first critical step.

Through Social Impact and Nazava Water Filters, we have already provided clean drinking water solutions that will protect this community for the next 3 years.

This immediately reduced waterborne illness and gave families something they had never truly had before: Safe drinking water.

But this is not the finish line.

Why This Is Not Enough

Water filters are a temporary solution.

A community cannot thrive — or grow — without clean, running water.

Naba Village has:

• No well
• No water storage
• No pipelines
• No water access for a school

The Next Critical Step: The First Well in Village History

Right Reasons Funding and YIGI are now undertaking a major infrastructure breakthrough:

Drilling a 50-meter deep water well

• Through granite and hard rock
• Requiring 5–6 weeks of nonstop drilling
• Heavy machinery, specialist crews, and long-term engineering

This well will feed:

• Water storage tanks
• The future school
• And, in stages, the entire village

This is not easy work.
This is not cheap work.
But this is life-changing work.

The Education Crisis No One Sees

Over 100 children in Naba Village currently receive no formal education at all.

No classroom.
No desks.
No books.
No teachers.

And for those who are old enough to attend middle-school age education, the journey is almost impossible:

• 5+ km walks through jungle
• Crossing rivers barefoot, carrying clothes and school bags over their heads
• Doing the same journey again at night to get home

By the time they arrive:

• They are years behind academically
• Unable to catch up
• Constantly failing
• Feeling isolated and ashamed

Most eventually drop out.

Not because they don’t want to learn —
but because the system is impossible for them.

What Happens Next: Building the School

In late January 2026, Right Reasons Funding and Yayasan Insan Guna Indonesia will begin construction of a much-needed school in Naba Village.

This school will:

• Serve 100+ young children
• Provide long-term teachers
• Include books, desks, and learning materials
• Deliver an ongoing, supported curriculum
• Create a real pathway to education success

This is not just a school.

It is the first step in breaking generational poverty in Flores.

Eliz’s Walk: From Dapur Tara to Labuan Bjao

To raise awareness and funding, Eliz from Flores will walk from Dapur Tara to Labuan Bajo

This journey represents:

• The distance children walk daily for education
• The hardship families endure for basic necessities
• The determination required to change a system that has failed them

Every step Eliz takes represents a child who deserves a future.
