Goal

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

This is something I have not shared publicly in any depth. I’ve shared pieces here and there. The sad thing is I know most women who have experienced a miscarriage or loss don’t share. The sadder thing is that this affects 1 in 4 women so you likely know several women who have gone through this heartbreaking experience.

I wish Foreknown was around when I got one of the most heartbreaking news of my life. After struggling with years of infertility, having my little miracle Avery, I wasn’t sure if we would ever be able to have another baby… until towards the end of 2016 when at the time I was just hired on with CDOC AND found out I was expecting! We were so excited that this happened without any extra help. We told our families and a few friends… Then when I was a little over 2 months along, I noticed some blood and felt like something wasn’t right. We went into the ER where I was told in a very clinical and sterile way that my baby no longer had a heartbeat. I remember feeling so alone and the room became 100 times bigger. The doctor prepared me for what would come and then left me with some paperwork on “what to expect.”

I met Alyson Brown about 3 years later when our little girls became best friends. She told me about her ministry and it was one of the first times I opened up to someone I just met. I would have given anything to know something like this existed when I was going through it.

I like to believe my little rainbow baby, Kinsley, was a special gift especially since Kins came almost a year to the day later.

I absolutely adore the founders and what they have built. I may not have benefitted from the services they provide but their ministry has given me the courage to share not only my story but continue to help spread the word so maybe other women won’t feel alone when they are handed some paperwork on “what to expect.”

I hope you’ll consider donating to this amazing ministry!
