Goal
Campaign champion:
Kerry Secrest, Honorary Consul of Lithuania to Vermont and friends.
Kerry is on our Advisory Board and has been supporting Ukraine since the onset of the war. Kerry has held fundraisers for us in the past, and we are grateful for this campaign, which she has created for us to provide needed supplies to Ukraine's defenders.
This winter, as the nights grow long, we’re sending warmth and hope to those holding the line in Ukraine. Join us in raising funds for Winter Care Packages for Ukrainian defenders who carry so much for all of us. Small gestures of light and comfort for those enduring a harsh season far from home.
*Defenders: 2/3 to 3/4 were civilians before the war, with jobs just like we have.
Each Winter Care Package is filled with essentials that bring both comfort and strength, some combination of: a mini cook stove, rechargeable hand warmers, warm socks, a fleece hat and gloves, instant coffee, protein bars, and beef jerky — small items that make a real difference in the field. And because a touch of sweetness can lift the spirit, each package also includes a piece of Vermont maple candy — a taste of Vermont kindness from our community to theirs.
SPONSOR A SOLDIER — $50 BRINGS WARMTH AND HOPE
Each Winter Care Package costs $50 and provides warmth, nourishment, and encouragement for one Ukrainian soldier. Our goal is to reach 200 soldiers — ten troops of twenty defenders — with care and solidarity this winter. Together, we can raise $10,000. Every donation lights a small flame of connection that travels far. We welcome donations of any amount.
*If the war ends, money will go toward rehabilitation and prosthetics for those injured through the war.
LET THEM KNOW THEY’RE NOT FORGOTTEN
This effort is personal. We’ve been matched with troops on the front lines in the eastern regions of the front lines, each unit made up of about twenty defenders. Along with each care package, we want every soldier to receive a message of encouragement — a simple reminder that they are seen and supported. Your short note will be printed and included, so a phone translation app can bring your words to life. Please take a moment to share a few words of hope — it means more than you think: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScrtogmnj_P_IMJW-QTb1WaxaLBLxP0cCE9tfbumX39_2mCeA/viewform.
