I am a doer, and after The Covenant School tragedy, I couldn’t sit idle. I needed to help hold those up who had suffered the greatest loss, and I needed to show up every day to speak with our lawmakers to hopefully help prevent something so tragic from ever happening again. I never again want to spend a morning texting with friends to see if they found their child yet, I never again want to hold a friend who weeps in my arms because her child was stolen from this world, and I never again want to cry with my community or anyone else’s ever again over a senseless tragedy. 

I am passionate about creating a Safer Tennessee for my community and for my children. I believe we all deserve to live in a community free from gun violence. Voices for a Safer Tennessee is a nonprofit (501c4), nonpartisan statewide coalition dedicated to prioritizing firearm safety and advocating for common-sense firearm laws to make communities across Tennessee safer for all of us. We believe this is not a partisan issue and are dedicated to working together, across party lines, to make real progress.

• Collaborate with state policymakers to prioritize firearm safety and responsible firearm ownership through bipartisan legislation.
• Mobilize grassroots supporters statewide with training and tool kits as well as an in-person legislative presence during active sessions.
• Educate the public about firearms safety and our policy priorities.
• Enhance our organizational infrastructure and efficacy.
• Run statewide wide TV, digital and social media ads to educate the public.
