Voice of Hope Ontario Fundraiser: Kenya Widow Project

The Voice of Hope Ontario team hopes to travel to Kakamega, Kenya the Lord willing in February, 2024 to work alongside our international partner, Everlyne Imbenzi to engage in widow care and community development projects.

Located approximately 300 km from Nairobi, Kakamega is home to over 70,000 people.  Like much of Kenya, Kakamega struggles with the hardships of severe poverty, a reality facing 73% of the community.  This is compounded by high levels of unemployment, HIV/AIDS, and the resulting increase in number of orphans and widows.  There are no government assisted programs for widows in Kenya, who have the burden of providing for their families.

Voice of Hope Ontario has a goal to raise $50,000 to assist in widow care projects in the Kakamega region.  These funds will to go towards the ongoing support for a group of widows, tuition support for some of their dependants, agricultural projects, and drilling a new well to provide safe, clean water to the local community.

100% of funds raised will go directly to the project!
