VITV/Valor Fire & Rescue PreSeason Prep Drive

Help support a veteran vocational and employment initiative fundraiser through Valor in The Valley 501(c)(3), and Valor Fire Rescue. This fundraiser will direct critical financial and operational support to provide highly trained military veterans and their expertise to local public safety agencies and private land owners in crucial wildland firefighting, wildland aviation operations, search and rescue, forestry and fuels management across Montana. This program significantly enhances and modernizes Montana's strained response and prevention posture, while combating the veteran employment and suicide epidemics, by giving very elite and highly trained veterans new purpose and means to a quality life of their choosing. This program currently provides mutual aid to several local and regional agencies.

Rising operating costs and safety costs are impacting our preseason preparation operations at a incredibly vulnerable time for the jurisdictions we support. A number of these impacted operations that the fundraiser would benefit are:

    • $30-40k in service work between all 3 fire engines. Standard fire engine maintenance, broken AC compressors & other gauges, broken exhaust, and other miscellaneous minor repairs. We want to ensure they are tip top for full use as early as possible, this enhanced season. 

    • Safety and compliance certifications/training costs for military veteran employees and crews. Many of the personnel have existing certifications that need renewal and come with costs. 

    • Replacement and additional safety gear and life support systems for firefighters and other ground personnel.
