Never had I thought I would be honored with the opportunity to travel across seas to serve refugees with my own hands!  InshaAllah, this September, my daughter and I will be joining IAC for the first time along with other enthusiastic and generous volunteers on a mission to Turkey where we will be packing and distributing food boxes to families along the Turkey/Syrian border.

Not only is this a sacrifice of our time, energy and money, but it's also a sacrifice for the family we leave behind to take on extra responsibilities to support us while we serve, my fitness clients who'll surely miss some sore muscles and over a week worth of school work to catch up on for my daughter.  The gratitude for this life changing opportunity is immeasurable!

For over a decade, these displaced refugees have been living in make-shift homes, living one day at a time.  IAC has been a pertinent in helping these families create a life beyond just. survival.  Not only will we be personally packing and distributing food boxes, but we will also have the honor of witnessing other enriching programs IAC provides such as orphan support, academic and quranic education, refugees with special needs and character building activities like competitive football.
