Imagine a workplace where every individual thrives in an environment tailored to their needs, regardless of their abilities. Starting October 14, 2024, Tenth Church is embarking on its annual Justice Journey to Cambodia, initiating a three-year plan to develop Villageworks’ manufacturing processes and workplace environment. Villageworks is a faith-based Cambodian social enterprise that integrates faith and work by employing people with disabilities. They empower their employees by designing and manufacturing bags using upcycled and recycled materials.
Our team for the 2024 Justice Journey includes experts in Occupational Therapy, Occupational Health and Safety, Lean Manufacturing, Engineering, Social Entrepreneurship, Product Development, and Design.
We aim to champion Villageworks by exemplifying Universal Design in the management of workers, the workplace, and work tasks. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment that encompasses both the physical workspace and the social and psycho-social atmosphere, including procedures, systems, and operations. This innovative and redemptive business model will serve as a testimony for other entrepreneurs to replicate locally and globally.
To achieve our objective, we are fundraising $20,000 for essential devices and aid equipment, prioritizing the following items:
- Carts
- Rolling racks
- Height-adjustable workstations
- Seating
- Seating fabrication with cushioning and supports.
- Adjustable shelving for storage
- Mobility aids
Your support will help us equip Villageworks with the necessary tools to create an inclusive and supportive workplace for all employees. This will enhance employee well-being and manufacturing efficiency, thereby increasing Villageworks' profitability and sustainability in the long term.
