Valley Scholars College Initiative aims to promote college access and equity, furthering opportunities for students from the Central Valley of California.

We're building a community where each student has an equitable opportunity to access higher education and garner local opportunities.

We believe every student is worthy of an affordable, high-quality, and transformational higher education experience.

Valley Scholars College Initiative was founded in Turlock, California in 2018 by three students and Central Valley natives who knew all too well the inequitable access to information and support when applying to college.

Motivated to generate change and progress in their community, they developed college access programming for underserved students. As we have continued to grow, we moved to provide space for students to meaningfully engage in the Central Valley’s abundant opportunities.

Now, Valley Scholars College Initiative operates a fellowship program, workshops program, scholarships program, and an essays program at no cost to a range of target populations as we work towards our visionary world. Together, we can work to promote equity and access in the Central Valley. Join us as we continue to learn, lead, and grow.
