Our Story:

Valentine’s Second Chance Animal Rescue was founded in 2021 by our current director, Brieanna Willis, after Valentine came to her as a foster. She was days away from being euthanized, very pregnant, and absolutely terrified. It was obvious that she had endured so much already in her short life, but with a lot of love and patience Valentine began to blossom into the silly, goofy girl she is today. We knew that she had to continue to give the second chance at life that so many, like Valentine, desperately needed and Valentine’s Second Chance Animal Rescue was born with the mission of restoring hope one paw at a time! We came from very humble beginnings with the hopes of saving just one life at a time, but quickly grew beyond our wildest dreams. Within the first six months what started in our directors spare bedroom turned into 20 fosters home and 50 lives saved. In our second year we were able to help save the lives of 150 more, something we could have never imagined! We quickly began to realize that we were outgrowing the small rental home that our director started the rescue in and she took a HUGE leap purchasing a home to be converted into a full time intake and Adoption facility in April 2022 to provide the safe haven that these dogs so desperately need. As you can imagine this is no small feat and does not happen overnight. We run solely on donations and the generosity of others to make this dream a reality and we are so grateful for AMAZING people like YOU!!!

Our Facility:

Providing the top level of care for our animals is our number one priority. With this we currently have plans to install 10 large breed rescue suites. 5 of which will be 8’x5’ and 5 will be 6’x4’. We will be adding a medical room, grooming station, ICU unit and maternity suite equipped with incubators and separate ventilation, and meet and greet and welcome center, and 4 separate play yards. The quality of our facility directly impacts the quality of life of the animals in our care, so providing them with the best we can is incredibly important to us!

Our Progress:

We have begun the initial phases of construction. We are currently installing our drainage system and concrete flooring for the rescue suites and will be moving on to sanding and sealing of all the flooring for the entire facility. We hope that this phase will be finished by the beginning of June. Phase two includes the build out of our rescue suites and functional spaces. Followed by phase three where we are fine tuning details based on urgency for our official grand re-opening.
