Urgent Help for Mercer and Naughtia's Flood Recovery

We are mobilizing emergency aid for our community members, Mercer and Naughtia, who were devastated by the floods in NC.

These two amazing individuals built the metal furniture at Wicked Eden, and they endlessly support our community with education, labor, and love. The time has come for us to return the favor. 

Message from Mercer:

"Me, My wife @NaughtiaF , our other house partners and little furry ones are all safe and not injured.

Unfortunately we can't say the same about our house which was totaled by the storm, where 20+ feet of water surged our property and destroyed everything.

Our workshops, vehicles, and garage have all been washed away and destroyed, and almost everything inside the house is ruined. 

We had spent days prepping for the storm, but there was no preparing for this as this was far beyond any weather forecasts, and nothing can stop flash flooding like that.

We're emotionally devastated and trying to salvage what little we can, but the house is likely going to be a complete loss due to being submerged under contaminated water, and not being structurally sound.

Unfortunately we're not even able to get a bit of reprieve as now looting is happening in the area, and we need to protect what we can while we wait for emergency aid and for the roads to be cleared so that we can get what we can to safety.

For those wanting to help or offer support with temporary housing, supplies, moving costs, and other necessities as we get back on our feet. A big hug and thank you to those who have already chipped in. it made me cry when i heard about it and means SO much.😭

We're working with FEMA and insurance, but in disaster situations like this, that aid unfortunately doesn't come quick enough.
