The Upper Darby Pride Festival needs your support!
Our festival is free to the public! Yet, in order to provide the quality entertainment and cover our logistical costs we ask the community to help us make the festival a reality. Last year, our coordinators came out of pocket to prove the Upper Darby Pride Festival was viable. After proving it to be a successful and very in demand event, after only having 29 days from concept to the festival. This year we will need your help one more time to keep it going!
Our festival serves Delaware county and Philadelphia and is the largest in Delaware county. Last year we had over 40+ vendors and over 350+ people attend. This year we are expecting even larger crowds of 500+ and over 85+ vendors from across the Delco, Philadelphia, PA, and beyond. Going forward we are hopeful to rely on grants but for 2022 we need your help one more time.
Many LGBTQQIA+ youth, community members, and families lack access to community resources due to a lack of concentration of the LGBTQQIA+ population in Delaware County and surrounding suburbs. Therefore, the primary goal of the festival is to provide a space for local non-profits, LGBTQQIA+ businesses, and support networks a space to concentrate and connect with the wider community. An additional but equally important goal of the Festival is to provide a place for celebration and education for LGBTQQIA+ youth in Delaware County.
Our current goal is to crowdfund $4,000 by June 10th. Your donations go towards covering the permit costs, facilities, stage equipment, our performers, security, activities, lunches and t-shirts for our volunteers, food trucks, and decorations. All donations will go towards the festival and not any other UDTJ projects of initiatives.
UDTJ is a fiscally sponsored project of Amistad Law Project which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and thus contributions are tax-deductible.
