Goal

We’re proud to be part of the Summit Assistance Dogs team, but this fundraiser is personal for us too.

Every day, we see firsthand how life-changing a mobility service dog can be, bringing greater independence, confidence, and freedom to people living with disabilities. We also see what it takes to make those partnerships possible: years of training, dedicated volunteers, and a community that believes access and accessibility should be available to everyone.

Summit provides these highly trained service dogs at no cost to our clients, removing financial barriers and opening doors to greater independence. That’s why we’re coming together, not just as staff, but as individuals who care deeply about this mission, to help raise the support needed to continue this work.

Below, each of us has shared why this mission matters to us personally. We’re so grateful you’re here and considering being part of it.

"Working for Summit Assistance Dogs has been such a privilege because of how significant an impact each dog makes for their person (and vice versa!) They are more than just furry companions; these dogs help make tasks manageable in a way that still builds self-confidence in everyday life. It is such fulfilling work to be able to provide some stepping stones for the pups on their journey and knowing that someday they will allow someone to feel more independent through that unique partnership." - Alyssa

"Throughout my life, i’ve lived and worked alongside people who have had to navigate the world with more thought and effort because it hasn’t always been designed to be accessible. I’ve also almost always had a dog by my side, and the companionship and sense of security that comes from that relationship is truly unmatched. Working at Summit gives me the opportunity to help create greater access, and I’m so proud to be part of an organization that brings together both of my passions." - Tristan

"Summit Assistance Dogs is not only a Service Dog Organization, it is a Community. Everyday is full of support, compassion, people and dogs. Who can say no to that. Growing up I could never decide what I wanted to be when I grow up! First, it was a Vet, then a Therapist, eventually a Doctor, sounds like I needed a job where both dogs and people are equally needed to be complete. Every day we strive for a better future while working together. By supporting Summit Assistance Dogs you’re not only supporting me, but many lives who may be a part of our volunteer program, our prison program, or anyone who has a mobility disability who are looking to work alongside us and the Dogs we raise together." - Heather
