Our Collective Action to End Poverty
HOPE for Ariang Foundation (HFA) remains committed to supporting access to quality education in rural, South Sudan.
In the heart of South Sudan, where conflict and instability have long stifled progress, education remains a powerful strategy to curb extreme poverty. The statistics tell a compelling story: UNESCO Institute for Statistics. (2020), the adult literacy rate in South Sudan is only 34.5%, one of the lowest in the world. Nearly 2.2 million children are out of school, deprived of the education that could transform their futures.
Our Ariang Boma Schools program is a game changer:
- It supports over 3,000 students & 60 teachers in 3 schools.
- Has enabled 511 children to finish their primary education.
- Supported 3 schools with uniforms, supplies, and MHM kits since 2011.
- Supported Ariang Boma Schools Graduates to transition to high school.
Besides providing quality education, we also run community development projects:
- Women and youth entrepreneurship training and seeding.
- Summer camps coaching & mentorship on interpersonal skills development, independent living, and peace-building.
- Foster problem-solving through self-organizing groups such as book clubs and environmental preservation projects.
