Goal
HOPE for Ariang Foundation (HFA) remains committed to supporting access to quality education in Ariang, South Sudan. HFA’s Ariang Network of Schools Program supports 3 primary schools; reaching over 2,500 students and 60 teachers. The organization supports the schools to develop internal capacity to run school operations effectively, and access essential learning resources. HFA also supplements teachers’ salaries to help create a fairer living wage – teachers in South Sudan get as low as $25 per month.

Gabriel recently visited the schools to champion equitable access to quality education and oversee the distribution of 691 pairs of school uniforms and 600 pairs of shoes to the students of Mading School. 600 students benefited. While he was there, he observed some needs that require our immediate action.

A good thing is that learning is ongoing in all three schools. However, all the schools are facing an acute shortage of basic learning resources. Our budgets from last were not sufficient and this is understandable given the ever-increasing student population and the rising cost of living that has sharply increased the prices of learning materials.
HFA is raising $10,000 to help stabilize the situation. Every $10 given to hope translates to full-year support for 1 out of the 2,500 kids. The donation makes education more accessible, equitable, and affordable.
