As-salaam Alaykum & Ramadan Kareem:
Thank you for your continued support of UMMA in our efforts to empower and unite all people with resources and opportunities to obtain self-sufficiency by providing access to basic needs, education and career services. Because of generosity like yours, we were able to raise $160K last Ramadan, $100K as a result of a generous match. This allowed us to help thousands of our neighbors get one step closer to self-reliance.
Please respond to this letter by sending us a donation during this year’s Ramadan. Our fundraising goal is $200K, and the impact of your gift to UMMA will be doubled because we are fortunate to have $100K already pledged to this campaign due to the generosity of a few donors whose gifts will match your donation.
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the entire world and thrown us all into a state of uncertainty. It has particularly devastated many of the people we serve who were already in extremely vulnerable situations. Your compassion and generosity will help them find solutions to some truly tragic situations and keep some level of hope for better futures.
In addition to helping UMMA serve the community, please consider adopting a refugee family. This is our 15th year supporting Muslim refugees, and this year we’re partnering with Rohingya Culture Center (RCC) in Chicago to provide much needed assistance to refugees who have found their ways to the Chicagoland area.
