Our Mission
The war in Ukraine has destroyed countless homes and communities, causing many families to displace to other parts of the country. The families we serve fled their homes and have been living in houses that lack basic living amenities such as indoor plumbing and modern heating. They have had to improvise kitchens, bathrooms, washrooms, laundry, and even waste disposal. Ukraine Relief Effort : Arcadia is supporting a team living in Ukraine, including one American, that is renovating houses to provide dignified living condition for these families.
Our Goals
- Shelter: Warm, Dry, Lockable
- Sanitation: Waste Water Disposal, Personal Hygiene and Laundry, and Good Indoor Air Quality
- Water: Clean, Hot, and Indoor Access
- Nutrition: Food Storage, Preparation, and Cooking
- Power: Outlets, Lights, Circuit Protection
Our Work
Our team works with IDPs, homeowners, city leadership, contractors, and material suppliers to provide the families with a complete set of dignified living conditions at a reasonable price. This requires smart project planning, consistent project management, and clear communication.
Your Contribution Matters
Our project costs have varied up to $8,000 and have helped single mothers, families of six, and families of three generations. Unlike standard humanitarian aid like food kits and clothes, these projects require both the amenities (like a toilet that costs $100), and the necessary infrastructure (like internal plumbing that can cost $2,500). We also will not do projects half way, so we only start projects we know we can finish, on budget and on time.
This is where you can help. Each donation adds to a family's full set of needs. And as we finish one project we can start another! Donate today and join us in easing the torment this war has inflicted on so many innocent lives.
